Biography
Loretta Foyle; http:// lorettafoylefineart.com lives and creates in Thornton, Colorado. She creates paintings in pastel, acrylic and watercolor. Loretta prefers to work ‘en plein air’. She likes the term outdoor painter the best. Loretta loves painting outdoors the best. She is intrigued by empty lots near where she lives. These empty lots are kind of ordinary, but she transforms them into an intimate sense of beauty. When painting outdoors she captures a sense of peace and calm. Plein air painting is about the firsthand experience of a place. Her work is an ongoing exploration of what it feels like to be in that space, surrounded by all that air, light and color. A blissful isolation. There is an energy embedded in the painting that can’t be duplicated in the studio.
Loretta earned a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Metropolitan Denver and went on to teach art at the elementary level for four years. Her work has been shown in exhibitions in the Denver metro area.
